In the last 16 months alone the Ballincollig CFR volunteer group received 520 emergency call notifications within our community relating to stroke, chest pain, choking and cardiac arrest 🚨 These are the 4 major medical emergencies for which we are trained and certified to provide support to the National Ambulance Service. However, you don't need to be fully trained to be able to make a potentially life saving difference to a loved one, friend, colleague or even a stranger should you be present when one of these emergencies arises. This Sunday 8th of March Ballincollig Cfr, with help of members from other Cork CFR groups, are inviting members of the community to visit Ballincollig GAA between 10 - 4 pm for a family friendly day of hands on, participatory demonstrations and advice on how to recognize and deal with such crises. We will also have short talks in the middle of the day from experts in nutrition, sports physiology and emergency medicine to provide a broader perspective on community health matters. More details to follow on our speakers in the coming days. We hope to see you on Sunday and please share with others who might be interested
